Affiliated organizations

As literature enters a networked environment, the institutions that support various aspects of literature are themselves forming collaborative networks. Here we offer some of the organizations that participate in specific ELO projects.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the current home of ELO.

The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, an initiative of the Library of Congress, is working with ELO to preserver works of electronic literature.

Turbulence is a project of New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. (NRPA). Now celebrating 15 years, Turbulence has commissioned over 200 works and exhibited and promoted artists’ work through its Artists Studios, Guest Curator, and Spotlight sections.

Located at the University of Siegen, Litnet aims at analysing the ongoing changes of literary communication in programmable and networked media, particularly on the Internet.

ebr is a top tier academic journal with a strong international focus. Founded by Joseph Tabbi, the journal gathers essays into 11 “threads,” or themes, developed by a series of guest editors at various institutional locations. Work appears continuously, on the network model, not on the model of the print ‘periodical,’ and each essay is presented for peer-to-peer review by everyone who has ever published in the journal.
