With the integrated GeneChip Instrument System, you can generate reliable,
reproducible genetic analysis data when you need it. The GeneChip platform
greatly improves your productivity and increases the speed and accuracy of
your genetic studies by automating routine procedures. The flexible platform
analyzes all GeneChip probe arrays for genomics research, polymorphism
analysis and disease management.
You can proficiently operate the GeneChip Instrument System with less than a
week of training. Standard protocols for sample preparation and array
processing enable you to consistently achieve high-quality results. GeneChip
software controls the operation of the instruments system, processes raw
data, and simplifies data analysis.
The most advanced platform in the industry, the GeneChip Instrument
System reduces the time and cost of discovering and developing innovative
pharmaceuticals.

GeneChip Fluidics Station
|
The GeneChip Fluidics Station automates the introduction of the nucleic acid
target to the probe array cartridge, controls the delivery of reagents and
the timing and temperature for hybridization of the nucleic acid target to
the probe array. Each fluidics station can independently process four probe
arrays at one time.
Simply load the probe array and nucleic acid target you've prepared
on the fluidics station. Enter information about the type of array
to be analyzed and press a key to start the process. The software
automatically selects the appropriate protocol and begins hybridization.
Once hybridization is complete, messages are displayed on the PC
and the fluidics station that the probe array is ready for scanning.

GeneArray Scanner
|
The Hewlett-Packard GeneArray Scanner uses an argon-ion laser to excite
fluorescent molecules incorporated into the nucleic acid target to generate
a quantitative hybridization signal. All you do is add the hybridized array.
With precise optics, the GeneArray scanner focuses the laser on 3-micron
spots within each of the thousands of probe cells contained on the GeneChip
probe array. A high-resolution image of the probe array is displayed in real
time during scanning, and fluorescence intensity data is automatically
stored in a raw file.
Known for reliability and performance, Hewlett-Packard has designed the
GeneArray scanner specifically for use with Affymetrix GeneChip probe
arrays. The easy to use scanner will provide you with high quality data for
years to come.

GeneChip Workstation
|
The GeneChip Workstation is the PC platform for the GeneChip Analysis Suite
software. This NT based system uses a Pentium processor to speed
analysis. Included as part of your system purchase, GeneChip Suite
is an operating system with easy and intuitive interfaces. You can
track all elements of your experiment from start to raw data through
final results and easily transfer information to other programs
or applications.

GeneChip Hybridization Oven
 |
The Hybridization Oven 640 automates your hybridization process for GeneChip
probe arrays. The oven provides precise temperature control to ensure
successful hybridization, and cartridge rotation to provide continuous
mixing. Up to 64 arrays can be processed at one time. The digital speed
control display provides you with the option of selecting specific rotation
speeds and to visually monitor the speed during the cycle.
