Archiving Digital Culture

4:15 - 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2002

Because of the pace of development of technology platforms, many of the earliest examples of electronic literature are now almost completely inaccessible. Others have faded as artists moved off of web servers. How can this and future work be preserved in its intended state? Furthermore, in the absence of a traditional publishing infrastructure, these archives might also play the role of primary distribution mechanism for electronic art and literature. How do we expand and service this cultural repository?

Panelists in this session include:

Robert Kendall
George Fifield
Howard Besser
Sidney Berger
