IN Network is a 2005 commission of New Radio and Performing Arts, (aka Ether-Ore) for its Turbulence web site. It was made possible with funding from the Jerome Foundation.

Michael Mandiberg is a New Media Artist who uses the Internet, Video and performance to explore subjectivity, labor, and commerce. He is interested in our everyday experience of the Internet: all of the new forms that we engage with in our everyday life as info-consumers, and which we don't think about. These include the home page, the search engine, the banner advertisement, the do-it-yourself site, and the e-commerce site. He inserts personal information into these depersonalized genres.

He recently completed Bush Poll (BushPoll.com), a statistical survey of the 170 George Bushes of the United States. In 2003 he curated the DVD exhibition First Person in collaboration with Carla Herrera-Prats and Anne-Julie Raccoursier. In 2002 conceived and organized The Exchange Program (ExchangeProgram.org), a collaborative performance where four sets of two people switched lives for 11 days. To provide information for his partner he built The Essential Guide to Performing Michael Mandiberg, an online do-it-yourself guide to his persona (Turbulence.org/Works/guide). In 2001 he completed a yearlong project, Shop Mandiberg (Mandiberg.com), which was a fully functional e-commerce web site that marketed and sold every one of his personal possessions. In that year he also launched AfterSherrieLevine.com and AfterWalkerEvans.com.

His work has been exhibited at such venues as Ars Electronica Center in Linz, ZKM in Karlsruhe, Germany, Transmediale Festival, Berlin, Tirana Biennale, Albania, Kunstmuseum Linz, and C-Level, Los Angeles. His work has been written about in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Berliner Zeitung, Wired, and a new survey Internet Art published by Thames and Hudson World of Art. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Culture, at the College of Staten Island/CUNY.

Julia S. is a founding member and co-director of the Toxic Titties, a Los Angeles based collective working in performance, video, photography, and new media.

The Toxic Titties recently performed Be my Patron at the Roy Disney Concert Hall and at Art In General Gallery in NYC. Costumed as art patrons, enacting a fantasy of artist funding, they created a drag performance that extended beyond gender to embody drag as class. In the showrooms of the IKEA store in Burbank, California, the Toxic Titties enacted a guerrilla performance where they posited their own domestic fantasy within the retail space. In 2002 Cassils and Leary were hired to perform in a work by Vanessa Beecroft at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. In their parasitical performance Beecroft Intervention, the Titties hijacked Beecroft's work and subverted her vision by influencing other performers, engaging them in a critical dialogue and by unionizing them, which forced up the cost of their labor. S. is currently heading up a Toxic Titties effort to place the Beecroft performance and resulting performance documents in a critical context, with publication forthcoming in the journal Signs in 2006.

Julia S.'s work as part of the Toxic Titties has been performed at such venues as Museum On Contemporary Art, Seattle, REDCAT at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Out Fest Film Festival Los Angeles, LA Freewaves festival and at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. They have performed in events such as the Intersectional Feminisms conference at UC Riverside, CA and at Outside Field: International Performance Festival at Ex-Teresa Arte Actual, Mexico City, Cyberfem Spirit, at Edith Russ Site for New Media, Oldenberg, Germany and at Schnitt Ausstellungsraum, Cologne. The Titties work was included in a poster series in Manifesta, Frankfurt, Germany and has been written about in Tema Celeste, the Los Angeles Times, the LA Weekly, Mexico City's La Reforma, Black Book Magazine, and Kolner Stadtanzeiger. Toxic Titties performance documents and design work have appeared in Gendered Geographies, edited by Kaucyila Brooke, published in Zurich by Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Zurich and SITE, Schinitt Austellungsraum published by Krefeld in Germany by Künstler Posteredition. Their work in collaboration with Austrian artist Dorit Margrieter was recently featured at MUMOK in Vienna.
