The Electronic Literature Organization invites expressions of interest from individuals and institutions interested in hosting the ELO Conference & Media Arts Show in 2027 and/or 2028.
The ELO Conference is the centerpiece of our organization’s annual activities, bringing together scholars, artists, and practitioners of electronic literature from around the world. The conference encompasses an academic program, a curated Media Arts Show (including exhibitions and live performances), workshops, and ELO community events. We welcome proposals for in-person, online, or hybrid conference formats.
Prospective hosts should familiarize themselves with the ELO’s Conference Best Practices, which outlines expectations for conference structure, administration, funding, accessibility, equity and inclusion, and documentation.
Timeline & Process
Expressions of interest are due by April 15, 2026. An expression of interest should be brief (1–2 pages) and include the proposed host institution and location (or platform, for online conferences), the organizing team’s core members, and any initial thoughts on theme or format.
Following this initial stage, prospective hosts will be paired with a Board representative for discussion and guidance before preparing a full proposal. The Board is committed to supporting hosts throughout the proposal process and across all stages of conference planning.
Questions and expressions of interest may be directed to the ELO President at anastasia (at) ucf.edu.
